As the Vice Director for Noeun POLY, I am committed to providing a wonderful and happy place where students can develop their English language skills. I have 2 years of experience teaching English and got my TESOL diploma in Vancouver, Canada. It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to educate and instruct some of the brightest young minds in Korea while working with great teachers. I hope to inspire and motivate the students to their potential here at Noeun POLY.

Hello. My name is David, and I am Canadian. I went to Concordia University and majored in Child Studies, and it allowed me to teach preschool children in various environments. Also, I was very fortunate to have opportunities to teach English, Mathematics and Science to elementary and high school students. Through the experience, I found joy and a sense of accomplishment in teaching. Out of all the subjects that I have taught, I really enjoyed teaching English. So, I decided to pursue teaching English as a second language. I believe in an organized, student-oriented class. In order to accomplish what I believe, I need to be approachable and friendly to my students so that they will be encouraged to try without being afraid of making mistakes. Also, at the same time, I have to be firm and consistent with my rules. Otherwise, the class would be in chaos and my lessons will not be efficient. Approaching students with this philosophy in mind, I believe the students will know when to study and when to have fun. Working at POLY will be a time of development. I will be teaching English at a new environment to new students. In addition, I will be able to see the new realities of teaching English. Then through the experience, I will get the chance to examine my teaching methods and find ways to instruct my students effectively. And hopefully, I believe that I will be able to approach and teach students more efficiently.

Hello, my name is Enrique Zavala, and I am from Adelanto, California. I graduated from California State University San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Before coming to Korea, I worked for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools at the Desert Mountain Children Center. There I would help with events for the students. During my time there, I acquired skills on how to work with children and ways to handle behavior. Working with the children, I discovered a passion for helping others and changing their lives for the better. In my free time I love being around friends or playing sports. I have played soccer since the beginning of high school and even played for my university’s soccer club team. I also love to learn new cultures and try lots of different foods. I am excited to begin my teaching career here at Noeun POLY and to help change the lives of the students I teach.

Hi, my name is Akai Baraka and I am from Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. I am a graduate of Saint Leo Catholic University. I hold degrees in Early Childhood Education and another in Business Administration with a focus in Technology. My passion for literature and the English language has inspired me to become an International Educator and secure a professional certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language(TEFL). My hobbies are meditation, herbology and yoga. When I am not practicing yoga on or off the mat, I enjoy watching historical documentaries and reading books on philosophy, art, nature and the latest in technology and science. As an International Educator, I find the best part of teaching is seeing that special shine in my students’ eyes when they “get it”. My personal teaching style utilizes an interactive, student driven approach, which will help students stay motivated and inspired. As your child’s English instructor, my goal is to help them become fluent, confident speakers and to expand their vocabulary!

Hello, my name is Jean Han and I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to join the Noeun POLY team. I am from Los Angeles, California, USA where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from CSUSB. I have volunteered teaching English to underprivileged children, and I always have had a passion in making a positive impact in the community. I strongly believe that the most important aspect of teaching is creating a positive and fun environment. I am always amazed how quickly children can grasp knowledge when education is fun and positive. I hope to demonstrate and inspire your children to want to learn. I look forward to a great year teaching your children.
